Just for Kicks

Just for Kicks is a program specifically designed for children with disabilities. Just for Kicks programs are for children ages 3-15. (*Students are split into separate groups according to age*) Separate camps are also run for adults with disabilities. The goal of our program is to assist each participant in gaining the skills, knowledge, and appropriate attitudes they need to healthy, active lifestyles. Our programs have assisted children to be successful in the following programs: - Community recreation soccer programs with their non-disabled peers. - TOPSoccer Programs - VIP Soccer Programs - Other Sports Programs for Individuals with Disabilities

The format of each camp is designed as such:

- 10 Specially Designed Skill Stations - Purpose: The stations are designed to isolate each skill so the children can focus on achieving MASTERY. The stations maximizes repetitions of a specific movement or skill.

- Team Building & Socialization Games - Some soccer based, some not - Purpose: Soccer is a team sport; life is in essence a team sport. Participants learn how to interact properly with other peers. Children learn appropriate social behaviors and they learn how to cooperate and work together to accomplish a "goal".

- Short-Sided Games - Culminating Event - 2 v 2 or 3 v 3 Soccer Games Purpose: Children learn how to take the skills they learned in the isolated skill stations and generalize them to the authentic "real-life" setting. Children must understand the purpose of a skill so they know when each skill needs to be used within the soccer game.

SKILLSnDRILLS

SKILLSnDRILLS is a program designed for children ages 3-15 who wish to gain the necessary soccer skills and improve their knowledge of the game. Children are first grouped according to age and then according to ability level. The goal of each camp is to assist each child to acquire the needed skills level and for the older children, introduce tactical concepts to help them to understand and be more successful within the game of soccer and in life.

Camp Format:

Skill Stations - Ages 3 - 4 - Exploratory movement and play - children will work on locomotor and manipulative skills that will help each child gain the necessary gross motor skills they need for continued development.

Ages 5- 8: Basic Skill Development - Designed to assist children in isolating and mastering the basic soccer skills. This will help them to be more successful with acquiring more advanced skills later on.

Ages 9-15: Skill Sessions are designed to teach more advanced skill development. The sessions will also teach tactical components based on ability level of each age group

Cooperative Games

Ages 3-8: Children learn appropriate social behaviors and learn how to work together with their peers.

Ages 9-15:Teach the importance of being a "TEAM" player and how a team must work together to accomplish or EVEN SCORE a "GOAL"

Short-Sided Games - **Only for ages 5-15 Ages 5-8: Play 3 v 3 or 4 v 4 soccer games to allow the children to use the games they learned in isolation in a game situation. Instructors play with the children and help them understand when to use various skills.

Ages 9-15: Play 4 v 4 or 5 v 5 soccer games. Instructors focus on teaching the participants how each skill or tactical concept is used within a game. Also work on positioning & defending.

BOTH PROGRAMS HAVE THEIR OWN PURPOSE AND IMPORTANCE, BUT THEY ARE SIMILAR IN THEIR GOAL TO TEACH THE GREAT GAME OF SOCCER & AFFORD CHILDREN OF ALL ABILITY LEVELS TO BE ACTIVE AND FIND SUCCESS IN A SPORT WITH THEIR PEERS
